Nov 4, 2016 · You should try one. The Bronson is an amazing bike. All the magazine reviews I've read call it the best 150mm bike on the market. I have a 5010 but have ridden my friend's several times and it's an awesome bike. The 5010 is a trail bike, the Nomad is a park/all mountain bike. Two different animals. What kind of trails do you ride?

The three brands you mention all use patented suspension platforms that set them apart. vpp is long in the tooth and not for everyone, but Santa Cruz has managed to make it relevant through adjustments in implementation.

Jun 16, 2020 · Seems geometries may not differ that radically for bikes across the use case range ( 5010 > Bronson > Nomad), they will be more differentiated by travel. This makes sense to me as I ride a nomad 4 with similar head angles really without issues across a wide variety of trails.

Which bike? SC 5010, SC Bronson, Forbidden Druid? Struggle.
I think Santa Cruz are doing really good things with geometry, particularly as a taller rider. The 5010 has stable and neutral handling so gives the confidence of a bigger bike, but feels much livelier as soon as you want to get it in the air or hit a climb.

Oct 19, 2023 · 29er is often a faster and better for rough higher speed tech trails. I prefer a 29er after having both . I moved from a 5010 to a Hightower and miss the 5010. The 5010 felt like it rolled twice as fast, whereas the Hightower feels like I’m on a fat bike. Pretty similar tire setups.
