It will have the grand opening of its newest location, which is in Orland Square, next week. This site is the closed Carson's store at that mall. I have read on City-Data that upscale retailers are actually doing well.

They mark down new items every Wednesday and they do further markdowns on Thursdays. Their first mark down is 25% the full price and they continue to mark down to 75% of the original price in 25% increments.

I once found an outfit for my granddaughter that I knew she would love. The store I was at didn’t have her size. The sales lady offered to call another store to check inventory.

Target, Kmart, and Walmart, if considering a traditional department store, are low-end. The hiearchy from high-end to low-end correlates with the number of locations each brand of store has.
