Galaxy 2 really didn't do much that Galaxy didn't already do. If the Wii had been capable of receiving DLC, it would have been DLC. Despite being a great game, there's very little reason to ever go back to it - it really doesn't have much of a unique hook or even a decent hub world like the original Galaxy.

The real, actual reason Mario Galaxy 2 isn't in 3D All-Stars
I wouldn't call it better or worse. It's just different. Mario Galaxy 2 is a lot more similar to 3D World than Galaxy 1 imo wheras Galaxy 1 feels a liiiiittle tiny bit more in-line with 64 and Sunshine. I personally prefer Galaxy 1, but the courses in Galaxy 2 do gives me the same feel that 3D World or even the 2D platformers give me.

God I hope so, playing galaxy 2 on my wii after having played 1 on the switch, looks so much better in HD. Also this might come as a surprise but I prefer playing with a switch pro controller as opposed to the classic nun chuck.

Dec 5, 2017 · Makes me very optimistic for the games on Switch. Video shows New Super Mario Bros. Wii running 1080p on the shield, which has a similar chip to the Switch. With them making the games readily playable on the Shield architecture it'd be a waste of potential for them to not release them on the Switch.

Sep 5, 2023 · Ago Nintendo released a collection called "3d all star collection" or smth like that, it had Mario galaxy, Mario sunshine and Mario 64 I believe. It was only for sale digitally and physically for a limited time, then they removed it for whatever reason.

Also, Super Mario Galaxy 2 has a whole world that is nothing but a callback to Super Mario 64, the real best 3D Mario game.
