May 9, 2012 · UPDATE: I tried BooperBaker78's vanilla cake recipe today. It is very good. It is less spongy than a straight cake mix, a tad less moist, and I most likely would have thought it was a scratch cake (which I feel most folks that doctor a cake mix are trying to achieve).

Jun 12, 2006 · You can add a 4th egg, a cup of sour cream 1/3 veg oil, 1/4 sugar, 1/4 water and a tsp vanilla. That seems to work well with any type of cake. Every time I have used the FV, my customers like it using just the box directions with a white chocolate frosting. HTH

May 31, 2019 · It works with *any* cake flavor and *any* liquid used. I don't ever remember having a problem - well except when I used a commercial mix (*50# bags) that I was told was the same as a box of Pillsburry; that ended up being a mixing problem - once that was correct it work fine .
