About - Boilermaker Road Race
In 1978, the Boilermaker began as a 15K road race with 876 runners, created to celebrate founding sponsor Utica Boiler’s 50th anniversary. Today, it is a week long extravaganza drawing over 20,000 runners, spectators, and volunteers.
Boilermaker Announces 2024 Race Plans
UTICA, N.Y. (December 20, 2023) – Officials from the Boilermaker Road Race unveiled the new race logo and announced that this year’s races will be run on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Priority registration will open at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 15 via the race’s website www.boilermaker.com.

The Boilermaker Walk starts and finishes on the beautiful MVCC Utica campus. Walk through Utica’s Parks, which were funded by the Proctor family and designed by the Olmsted’s (Frederick Sr. & Jr.), and turn around at designated markers for a 1, 2, 3, or 3.75-mile walk.
