Feb 26, 2008 · we run a few 1500s. 2 1500 reg cab short beds 5.3L with the plow prep pkg with 7.5" fisher plows. the other 2 are crewcab short bed 1500Hds with the 6.0L and have 7.5" fishers. the reg cab shortbed plows are great for tight drives. we have used them for a few years. and they have held up no problem.

Jan 6, 2000 · Ah ya need a trailer hitch. Ya also need a double acting cylinder, a cutting edge for the with you want to make the plow, and a controll system. I would suggest useing an electic pump with electic valves. Nothern Hydrolics would have one, with controlls. I used an old electic plow pump and used the angle contolls to lower and raise the plow.

Feb 10, 2013 · I used a Nissan to maintain a 3 km road in a snowbelt for 20 years. It held up just wonderfully. With the way snow falls out there, I sure wouldn't want a wide truck there. The narrower the plow, the easier it is to cut through the snow. The wider the truck, the wider the plow has to be to reach past it.

We do an apartment complex that is sprawled out over 20 acres, a few town house associations, 2 trucking terminals and a few other smaller business.

I really considered the Western Prodigy. However, I wanted to stick with the same brand I already had in case I needed to swap plows on my 2500.

Oct 12, 2020 · I’d feel comfortable running any of the major plow manufacturers 7.5’ plows on a half ton. I don’t know how nice of a truck you need, but if I was building a half ton plow truck, I would absolutely use a mid 80’s to 90’s F150 with the 4.9 300ci I6.
