Governor Kathy Hochul visited Marcy Correctional Facility and made sweeping changes to the facility's leadership.

Hochul also announced immediate corrective measures. She already ordered a comprehensive investigation into Brooks's death and instructed New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Commissioner Daniel Martuscello to initiate the termination process for the 14 individuals involved in the fatal incident.

Body-cam footage released on Friday, December 27, showed New York correctional officers fatally beating inmate Robert Brooks to death earlier this month.
