Last month, an intense interview between “CBS Mornings” co-anchor Tony Dokoupil and author Ta-Nehisi Coates went viral after the two sparred over Coates’ perspective in his latest book “The Message.”

The comments come a couple of weeks after the controversial interview with Coates, who came on the show to speak about his new book, 'The Message.'

Gayle King described the controversial "CBS Mornings" interview with author and activist Ta-Nehisi Coates as a "learning" experience.
