Both Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau and Mexican President Sheinbaum said they had agreed to bolster border enforcement efforts in response to Trump's demand to crack down on immigration and drug smuggling.

President Trump has worked out one deal – with Mexico, which has rapidly deployed troops to the border, in exchange for a delay on America’s threatened tariffs. But Mr Trump has doubled down on his threats against the EU, saying they have chosen tariffs because of the bloc’s tax rules.
