Klingberg will either be a brilliant addition for the Oilers or a quick audition that will be forgotten by fall.

John Klingberg hit the ice at Rogers Place on Monday morning, practicing with the Edmonton Oilers for the first time since signing a one-year contract with the team late last week.

The Edmonton Oilers recently decided to sign returning defender John Klingberg to a one-year deal for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Unfortunately, the deal doesn’t look great for them and might end up being a terrible mistake.

Two of the National Hockey League’s top teams will tangle at Rogers Center in Edmonton, Alberta, on Tuesday night. The Washington Capitols, which top all NHL teams with 67 points, will open a five-game road trip against the Oilers (29-14-3, in the Pacific Division), one of six teams with at least 60 points.

The Minnesota Wild and the Edmonton Oilers face off in Western Conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
