About 10 people including the gunman have been killed at an adult education center in what Sweden’s prime minister called the country’s “worst mass shooting.”

School attacks are relatively rare in Sweden, but the country has suffered shootings and bombings linked to gang violence that kill dozens of people each year.

At least 11 people have died and six people were taken to hospital following a shooting at a school in Sweden. The incident occurred on Feb. 4, 2025, in the southern Swedish town of Örebro, according to The Guardian . The school hosts an adult education centre, among other facilities.
