Public health emergencies demand decisive leadership, proactive capacities, and swift, coordinated responses to mitigate their impacts on lives, livelihoods, and economies, particularly in Africa, where health systems have little resilience to public health emergencies.

The two positive cases are among 31 samples tested, and officials are considering use of antivirals and experimental vaccine.
