With new developments in XR, AI, and wearable tech, CES 2025 has solidified its place as a barometer for the next wave of innovation.

CES 2025 was the year of the smart glasses. AR / VR headsets were everywhere. Just when we thought we covered them all – check out our coverage so far on the XREAL One Pro and Chamelo – we'd come across yet another new pair of smart glasses.

The Halliday Glasses have launched at CES 2025. They bring with them a built-in screen, smart ring control, an AI assistant, and a stylish design.

Heading into 2025, the next step for smart glasses was clear as day: while AI glasses like Meta's, the Solos AirGo3, and AirGo Vision would act as the tip of the spear, the addition of display tech would be the feature that truly pierces the hide of the mainstream.

There are a slew of AR glasses, VR headsets, and other high tech eyewear at CES 2025. Almost every device has some sort of AI implementation or camera embedded into the glasses, which provides the users with an array of capabilities – probably more than they would ever intend to use on a regular basis.

CES 2025 has been a significant one for smart glasses — so much so that I’m confident at least a couple of these will adorn our list of the best smart glasses (provided they play their cards right).
