Beneil Dariush has an interesting pick for the UFC lightweight who has the best chance of dethroning Islam Makhachev.

A native of Nebraska and fighting out of Florida, Dawson owns a stellar 11-1-1 stretch in the UFC. The 30-year-old is riding a three-fight win streak after defeating Diego Ferreira at UFC 311.

He returned to featherweight the fight after, but was knocked out by champion Ilia Topuria at UFC 308. Dariush (22-6-1 MMA, 16-6 UFC) is yet to fight Makhachev, but is on a two-fight losing skid.

At one point, Beneil Dariush was on an 8-fight win streak, which featured high-profile wins over former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson and highly regarded grappler Mateusz Gamrot.
