Dairy Queen is giving ice cream enthusiasts an extra special (and sweet) way to celebrate Valentine's Day this year. Known for its delicious soft serve and frozen Blizzard treats, this iconic fast food chain is adding two beloved red velvet items back to the menu on January 27th,
Every month brings a tempting seasonal Blizzard to Dairy Queen. The Queen knows exactly what fantastic flavor we’ll be craving. (We’re still buzzing about the comeback of the S’mores Blizzard). Nothing hits like a tried-and-true flavor,
Dairy Queen is bringing back two red velvet frozen treats for the holiday. Beginning Jan. 27, the fast food chain will add the Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Treat and the Red Velvet Blizzard Cupid Cake to the menu nationwide.
The Red Velvet Cake Blizzard is a DQ favorite for a reason. This limited-time Blizzard features rich red velvet cake pieces, silky cream cheese icing, and classic DQ soft serve, all blended into a luxurious, irresistible treat with the color to boot.
For many years, Dairy Queen advertised their flip guarantee, meaning that if a Blizzard wasn’t flipped before being handed to the customer, they’d get a free one. In a viral video with more than 240,000 views, TikToker Nickayla Robbins (@nickaylarobbins) shared her disappointment after being unceremoniously handed a messy Blizzard.
You can still order mostly-in-Texas menu items such as a Chicken-Fried Steak Sandwich, Chicken & Dumplings, Tacos, and a side of Texas Toast (of course) at Texas Dairy Queens. In 2024, a new sauce was even added to menus known as the “DQ Texas Sauce.”
To make a homemade Blizzard, TikTok users scoop flavors like vanilla, chocolate, or rum raisin ice cream into a stand mixer and add their favorite toppings, such as leftover holiday candy, brownies, or peanut butter. Then they blend everything to achieve the signature soft-serve-like consistency of Dairy Queen Blizzard.
A Dairy Queen location on the West Shore in Cumberland County has temporarily closed its doors. According to a Facebook announcement made back on January 9, the local ice cream shop on 607 East Simpson Street in Mechanicsburg is currently closed and undergoing renovations.
