As Georgia’s legislative session continues, Savannah and Chatham County leaders are making their way to the state capitol to push their priorities for Savannah-Chatham Day.

Gov. Brian Kemp is scheduled to deliver his State of the State address before the Georgia Assembly at 11 a.m. Thursday.

As lawmakers gear up for week two at the Georgia State Capitol, Governor Brian Kemp made tort reform a priority this legislative session.

The governor outlined a 20 basis point tax cut reduction, which would drop the state flat tax rate from 5.39% to 5.19%, following cuts last year. Kemp has previously signaled intentions to bring it down as far as 4.99% before his term expires in Jan. 2027.
