Temperatures in parts of the San Francisco Bay Area were expected to drop into the upper 20s to the middle 30s for the second morning in a row Tuesday, triggering a Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory.
The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Wednesday calls for mostly clear and sunny skies with some parts of the region expected to experience frost.
Though it initially seemed unlikely that rain would reenter the forecast, now there’s a slight chance that Oakland and San Francisco will see precipitation on Saturday night before 10 p.m., while South Bay cities like San Jose could experience wet conditions after 10 p.m.
The Bay Area office of the National Weather Service issued weather advisories for strong winds and possible coastal flooding in the area for the upcoming weekend.
On Tuesday at 11:26 a.m. an updated frost advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Wednesday between midnight and 10 a.m. for Marin Coastal Range, North Bay Interior

The National Weather Service Bay Area issued a Beach Hazards Statement Monday for dangerous swimming and surfing conditions. NWS forecasters said there was a “moderate to high risk for sneaker waves” at all Northern California beaches.
On Tuesday at 5:21 a.m. an updated frost advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 9 a.m. for North Bay Interior Mountains, North Bay Interior Valleys, East Bay Interior
The NWS has issued a Wind Advisory for the Bay Area due to strong northerly winds, affecting various regions until 10 AM.
Of bigger concern to the weather service is the overnight cold that’s next on tap. Mehle said overnight temperatures in the southern Santa Clara Valley, East Bay interior valleys and in the North Bay interior and valleys will drop into the low 30s by the weekend or early next week.
A high-pressure system looming over the West Coast is expected to deliver “a strong push” of offshore winds to the Bay Area this week.
