Jones made the comfortable move that likely won't cost too much to replace Mike McCarthy as the Cowboys head coach

Koger landed in Atlanta before the 2024 season started, spending the year working under offensive coordinator Zac Robinson.

Schottenheimer began his coaching career back in 1997 when he landed an assistant position with the St. Louis Rams. Over the years, he has served on the coaching staff for teams such as the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and several others.

America’s Team will have some Gator flavor as the Dallas Cowboys have hired former Florida Gators quarterback Brian Schottenheimer as head coach. Per ESPN, Dallas owner Jerry Jones has made Schottenheimer the 10th coach in franchise history.

“Brian Schottenheimer is known as a career assistant,” Jones said, per ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. “He ain’t Brian no more,” Jones puzzlingly added. “He is now known as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.”

Former Bengals and Rams standout Andrew Whitworth recently gave his thoughts on Dallas’ head coaching move, reliving some of his past meetings with Schottenheimer in the NFC West. Whitworth suited up for the Rams while Schottenheimer was calling offensive plays in Seattle from 2018-20.
