Most F1 cars can reach speeds of well over 200 mph, but the newest automobiles in the F1 stable go much much slow. Built from 400,000 Lego pieces, the life-size Lego cars can drive 12 mph—not bad for a bunch of plastic bricks.

Before the start of Sunday's Miami Grand Prix, the stars of Formula 1 took to the track in full-sized F1 cars made out of Lego bricks.

Lego has really outdone itself this time. Three years on from its incredible but very stationary full-size F1 McLaren build, the world’s premier manufacturer of barefoot hazards has constructed 10 fully operational F1 cars for the Miami Grand Prix.
