PORTLAND (WGME )--- Snow has come to an end across Maine, and frigid air is moving in. A mostly dry but very cold week is ahead with the coldest temps in about 2 years expected.

Much of Maine woke up to several inches of fresh snow Monday morning, and people were quickly out and enjoying the conditions as the sun came out. Maine's Total Coverage caught up with two adult sisters who were playing in the snow in Payson Park with their dogs.

The heaviest bands of snow have left Maine as of 5:15 am. Lighter snow and windy conditions look to continue mostly for Eastern Maine until about 9am.

Seacoast New Hampshire and southern Maine are bracing for the largest snowfall of 2025 to date, expected Sunday night ahead of an Arctic blast.
