As a winter storms works its way toward Hampton Roads, local leaders have announced cancellations for weekend activities. Much of the region is under a winter storm warning through Saturday morning. The forecast calls for 2 to 4 inches of snow.

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Roads Transit will reduce services due to winter weather. On Saturday, Jan. 11, snow routes will go into effect. HRT will operate on limited, hourly bus service while the Tide light rail and Elizabeth River Ferry will run every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Hampton Roads might get another round of snow and ice this weekend as a nor’easter is expected to move across the South. According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, Hampton Roads has at least a 70% chance of “minor impacts” from the storm,
