These aren’t warnings of what’s to come, but examples of what aid workers say is the fallout of the Trump administration’s freeze on foreign aid and the gutting of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The attacks on foreign aid come at a time when migrant shelters in Tijuana and other Mexican border cities could see increased need after Trump blocked asylum access at the southern border and aims to remove millions of people from the United States.
