May 27, 2011 / 1:37 PM EDT (CBS/AP) SAN FRANCISCO - With more of us letting our fingers do the walking online, San Francisco has banned the unsolicited distribution of the Yellow Pages phone book.

Dex Media distributes the yellow pages on Florida’s west coast. When a representative found out the school wanted to boost literacy scores, he worked out a way to donate 1,000 phone books.
