Per the singer's GoFundMe, doctors managed to 'save his life' — but he is now facing a tremendous 'burden' ahead of him.

The GoFundMe set up for singer, songwriter Matthew Sweet, who recently suffered a debilitating stroke, has now reached more than $300,000. The campaign, which originally had a goal of $250,000, now has a goal of $400,000.

Matthew Sweet, who grew to fame in the 1990s with alt-rock hits including "Girlfriend" and "I’ve Been Waiting," will be prevented from performing for the foreseeable future.
