Chris Wood has signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest, keeping him at the club until the English summer of 2027. The 33-year-old says he is “very excited” for the years ahead.

Nottingham Forest have confirmed that striker Chris Wood has signed a new contract through until the summer of 2027. Wood, 33, was due to be out of contract at the end of this season, which is on track to be his most prolific at Premier League level.

Wood, who has scored 14 goals in 23 games this season, has signed a two-year contract to keep him at the club until 2027. On extending his stay, the 33-year-old said: "I'm very excited and very happy to have it completed and done, and I'm looking forward to the next couple of years, at least.

Only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak have scored more goals than Wood in the top flight this term
