West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey says more people in West Virginia have been detained on suspicion of immigration violations, and that the state will continue to cooperate with ICE to crack down not only on illegal immigration into the Mountain State,

At least 72 people in West Virginia have been identified and detained for residing in the country without proper documentation as of Thursday, according to Gov. Patrick Morrisey. That’s up from the 58 people who were identified earlier this week.

The governor said his administration is directing all law enforcement agencies in the state to cooperate with the effort.

West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey said during a news conference on Jan. 30, 2025 that a total of 72 people had been arrested as of late on Jan. 29, 2025 in a statewide sweep by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
