The winter storm continues to hamper retail operations in Dallas-Fort Worth. Some malls and stores are opening later on Friday after snow and the cold covered many areas of the region, making travel tricky for locals.

Snow is no longer falling over most of North Texas after the first winter storm of the season. The National Weather Service dropped a winter storm warning early Friday morning, and let a winter weather advisory expire at 12 p.

Light snow, freezing drizzle and slick conditions are impacting roads and travel on Friday, with a winter weather advisory in effect until noon.

Kohl's is shuttering its site in North Dallas at 18224 Preston Road by April. It’s the only store in the state set to close.

DALLAS — Kohl’s is closing more than 20 stores nationwide, including in North Texas. The retailer announced Thursday it plans to close 27 underperforming stores by April 2025, including one store in Dallas at 18224 Preston Road. The Dallas store is the only Texas store closing. California has the most stores closing with 10.
