California rolled out a new map of fire hazard severity zones for San Diego County, showing a 26% increase in acres now in a very high hazard zone.

Cal Fire said the maps are proactive, to be used in wildland-urban interface building standards for new construction and natural hazard real estate disclosures at the time of sale.

California officials on Monday released the fourth and final set of county maps that rate the likelihood and severity of wildfires.
