The ropes course and ziplines were some of the most exciting activities I’ve ever had the chance to do. Both activities would be great team building exercises or group activities.

DUXBURY (CBS) -- A 12-year-old girl dangling 30 feet in the air by her ankles was rescued by Duxbury Firefighters Monday. The girl was hanging off a high angle ropes confidence course at Camp Wing.

“On arrival we found a girl hanging from a high angle ropes confidence course,” Duxbury fire tweeted. The girl was suspended 30 feet in the air from her ankles, Duxbury fire said.

The ropes course only further embraces these ideals and more, designed to provide Girl Scouts with a new way to grow mentally, emotionally and socially – all while having fun outdoors.

Last year, Michael Cellini proposed building Mountain Ridge Adventure — a ropes course at the corner of Johnson and Weatherwax roads on his 50-acre plot in West Glenville.

Ropes courses usually consist of high and/or low elements. While some elements take place just a few feet from the ground, high elements (often based in trees) are sometimes 60 feet above the ground.

Via ropes and wobbly bridges, on hanging nets, up scrambling walls, through on-your-back-or-tummy tunnels, outdoor thrill seekers are testing their muscle and meddle from a dare-to-look-down view.
