Wisconsin Humane Society is trying to rehome more than 70 cats seized from a home in Ozaukee County, the humane society said Tuesday in a Facebook post.The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office explained it was conducting a welfare check Wednesday in the Town of Grafton.

The Wisconsin Humane Society is taking care of 73 cats recently removed from a single household. The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office and the Ozaukee Central Fire Department helped the homeowner and contacted the Humane Society for help with the cat rescue.

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office was called to do a welfare check on a homeowner in the Town of Grafton where there was no running water, heat, or gas.

Responding deputies spoke to the elderly homeowner and determined that the house wasn’t fit for habitation by either the person or the 73 cats that were eventually removed from the home.
