Injuries plague NFL teams as the 2025 season begins. Week 1 sees players like Cody Simpson and Drake London facing concussions and sprains.
Every week, NFL teams must work around injuries. Unfortunately, roster attrition is part of the game, which is why depth is important.
Here's your Saturday afternoon Skill Player-Only Injury Report.
With Brock Purdy sidelined by a turf toe injury, Kyle Shanahan will need to be at his best with his play-calling as Mac Jones takes over under center against the Saints.
Unlike the Colts, the Patriots did not get the play under center with their quarterback that they anticipated. Drake Maye threw for 276 yards but got the Pats across the goal line just one time. On the other side of the ball, Mike Vrabel's defense allowed 21 first downs and 389 total yards.
On Sunday, the 49ers breathed a sigh of relief after McCaffrey showed no indication of discomfort in the 17-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. He carried the ball 22 times for 69 yards and added nine receptions for 73 yards through the air.
Minnesota has a mediocre secondary and was dead-last in the league in coverage grade in Week 1 according to PFF. The Vikes top corner is Byron Murphy Jr. who gives up five inches and 25 pounds to London and allowed a perfect passer rating of 158.3 when targeted last week.
Week 1 of the 2025 season is well underway, and Sunday is when things really kick off with 13 games on the schedule. The action then wraps up on Monday with the first Monday Night Football game of the year in Chicago.
