Wednesday night, the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Northern Great Lakes received a report of a dog on the ice in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers boat basin, near the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie.

Officials say a 911 call came in around 8:10 p.m. Sunday, saying five people on a boat were now in the water on Lake Poygan. Several rescue groups helped in the search.
