Holden Special Vehicles has had its monumental surprise spoiled early it seems. Amateur spy photos have revealed the 2017 HSV GTS-R in all its glory ahead of an official debut later this year.

Hotted-up Utes aren't a new idea in Australia, but this HSV GTS takes things to a new level with its 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V-8 engine that makes a lofty 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque.

Power for the HSV GTS Maloo will come from the Camaro ZL1 's supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V-8 tuned to 577 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque. The high-performance engine is backed by a Tremec T6060 six ...

But, WhichCar has confirmed a reborn GTS-R will not be receiving said engine. Instead, HSV will tweak the 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V8 engine for increased power for the new GTS-R.

Production starts in August, when HSV will build just 500 of the LSA powered GTS. And they won't be cheap: Starting price will be $95,000 in Australia. Crikey! But I think it's totally worth it.
