With about 500 days until Houston hosts seven World Cup matches, sports officials said plans are almost complete for updates to NRG Stadium. The changes will bring the facility into compliance with FIFA standards.

FIFA World Cup in Houston is 503 days away, and to mark the milestone, Houston and Harris County leaders held a news conference to discuss plans.

Boston will host seven matches at “Boston Stadium,” known as Gillette to New Englanders, including five group-stage games, one Round of 32 fixture, and the first quarter-final match.
