MONTREAL — A Montreal non-profit administrator who once operated a headline-grabbing swingers club has been fined $1.4 million by Quebec's Revenue Department.
Revenu Québec says Labaye and Cercle réciproque failed to pay sales tax and provincial income tax between 2015 and 2018, and federal income tax between 2016 and 2019.
For now, the Cercle Odyssey tour, which kicked off in Mexico City last month, will wrap in Paris on June 1, but Barbolla says he wants to expand it and bring it to more cities in the near future.
Between 2015 and 2018, Cercle réciproque failed to declare and remit sales taxes it had collected, the government said. The total taxes evaded amounted to $231,370.
