Joseph Emerson, the off-duty pilot who tried to stop a plane mid-flight, was convicted Friday on 83 counts of reckless endangering another person in a Multnomah County Circuit Court as well as one felony charge of first-degree endangering an aircraft.

Joseph Emerson, 46, reached plea agreements in both his federal and state cases in Oregon stemming from the October 2023 flight, his attorney told ABC News.

Joseph Emerson was subdued by the flight crew after trying to cut the engines of a Horizon Air flight from Washington state to San Francisco.
