For those who don’t know Aang, he’s the last known airbender who was trapped in ice for 100 years. Now defrosted, he embarks on his pursuit of destiny to bring peace to the world.
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender will be taking place years after the events of the original series, and will be directed by Lauren Montgomery with William Mata as co-director.
Aang particularly struggled when it came to stopping a rock hurtling toward him. He opted out, realizing that he didn't have the resolve to prevent the rock from crushing him, outright quitting.
Aang: The Last Airbender was first announced in 2021 as a part of Avatar Studios, a Nickelodeon studio dedicated solely to expanding Avatar’s mythos with new original shows and films.
According to Variety, the highly anticipated Aang-focused Avatar movie will no longer arrive January 30, 2026, as it’s now slated to premiere October 9 that same year.
