It's been a week since death row inmate Robert Roberson's execution was stopped by a last-minute subpoena, and now Roberson's legal team is firing back at Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Four Texas House lawmakers issued a point-by-point rebuttal to what they called the attorney general’s misleading characterization of Roberson’s case.

With his execution looming last Thursday, the 57-year-old Texas death row inmate watched as his attorneys’ legal arguments were rejected in the courts and his pleas for clemency disregarded, as the state parole board declined to recommend he receive a lesser sentence or reprieve.
