MONTREAL — As Team Canada’s management group processed the news that Shea Theodore was lost to injury for the remainder of the 4 Nations Face-Off, it immediately became apparent that they needed to quickly get contingency plans in place.

Ahead of their highly anticipated matchup with the United States as part of the NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off on Saturday, Team Canada was granted permission to bring Stars defenseman Thomas Harley in amid uncertainty surrounding their blue line.

Canada already lost one Golden Knights defenseman when Alex Pietrangelo withdrew from the 4 Nations Face-Off. Now, the nation is down another. Defenseman Shea Theodore was forced to leave during the second period of the opening matchup between Canada and Sweden. He was on the receiving end of an awkward hit with Sweden's Adrian Kempe.
