Cinemark’s first-ever “Bring Your Own Bucket” promotion will be on Jan. 19 to celebrate National Popcorn Day. That Sunday, customers can bring in any clean container of their choice and the movie chain will fill it with fresh popcorn for $5, up to the equivalent of two XL popcorn sizes or 400 ounces.

That's the gambit of a new promotion Cinemark locations are rolling out later this month in which the theater chain will allow fans to BYOB. That second B though isn't "beer," it's for "bucket" - specifically a popcorn bucket.

For one day only, you can bring your own empty popcorn bucket and for $5, Cinemark will fill it. Customers are encouraged to “get creative and bring in any container, tote, or bag,” up to 400 ounces or about 3 gallons.
