Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) was among those who sharply criticized billionaire Elon Musk on Monday for making "what appears to be a Heil Hitler salute" during an event celebrating the inauguration of President Trump.

Musk, 53, spoke to a crowd of Trump supporters at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., after Trump was sworn in at the U.S. Capitol. While thanking the supporters, Musk put his right hand over his heart, then extended his arm out with his palm down. He then turned around and repeated the gesture.

X users believe Elon Musk did "the Hitler salute", also known as the "Nazi salute", in a huge inauguration blunder. The billionaire made the eerily similar gesture when he slapped the podium and raised his flat hand into the air.
