The new year has opened with a stunning astronomical event: the Quadrantids meteor shower, one of the finest meteor showers of all. Stargazers can ring in the beginning of 2025 by witnessing the first meteor shower of the year. The Quadrantids, one of the "strongest" displays of the year, are expected to peak Thursday night through early Friday morning, according to the American Meteor Society (AMS).
