A homeless man was found dead Wednesday near the Cumberland riverbank in what Nashville police believe is the first homicide of 2025. Two men, also experiencing homelessness, reported the man's body to a Nashville Downtown Partnership ambassador, Metro Nashville Police said in a statement Thursday morning.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man is dead after a shooting on Hahns Lane in Greensboro at 1 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, according to the Greensboro Police Department. Officers were alerted to the crime scene on the 3900 block of Hahns Lane. At the same time, two people arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.

Arriving officers located a male victim at the front of a residence on Hewitt Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

A man is dead following a shooting in Bridgeport Thursday evening. Police say that at around 5:05 p.m., units responded in the area of Hewitt Street for the incident. They found the victim, a 48-year-old man,

Bridgeport police said they are investigating a shooting that left a man dead Thursday. Hewitt Street is currently closed between Connecticut Avenue and Hewitt Court, police said. At 5:05 p.m., police went to Hewitt Street for a report of a person shot.

A man died on Thursday after being shot in the torso on Hewitt Street in Bridgeport, according to police. The incident happened at around 5 p.m. Medics arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where he died a short time later.
