Infiniti QX50 marks the final model year for this compact luxury crossover, whose attractive design has remained a consistent high point.

Production of the QX50 and QX55 will end in December, Infiniti told retailers at its Jan. 24 make meeting. The Japanese premium brand said it would build enough of the compact crossovers to supply dealers into summer 2026.

Infiniti is on a quest to find its next big thing. After years of positioning itself just out of the spotlight, it’s hoping the 2025 QX80 might be the vehicle that convinces affluent buyers to look its way. But rather than taking on the sedans it once championed, the brand is betting everything on SUVs for 2025. One of its key offerings? The QX55.

According to Pandikuthira, the aging QX50 and QX55, launched for 2019 and 2022, respectively, will appear outdated compared to Infiniti's newer models arriving at dealerships, such as the 2025 QX80 full-size SUV and the upcoming QX65, a coupe-like crossover due next year.

Infiniti already has a small lineup, and losing the QX50 and QX55 means an even more limited product range. The QX50 had Infiniti’s second-highest number of deliveries last year
