Firefighters are battling a grass fire in northeast Wichita. KSN has learned the fire is not close to containment, and crews will be out in the area for several hours. There is no immediate danger to people at the moment,

Fire crews responded to a large grass fire near Cogar in northeast Caddo County on Thursday evening. McIntyre Law Chopper 4 flew over the scene of the grass fire, showing heavy smoke in the area as the fire approaches houses nearby.

Firefighters says they were on the scene within minutes and put the small fire out quickly. They want to remind everyone that current weather conditions are primed for grass fires
