A police officer shot a man and a woman was critically injured during a Deer Park PD response to a disturbance.

Investigators said 911 operators could hear commotion in the background when they were called to the domestic disturbance. When they arrived, police said they saw a little girl running from the home and an armed man following her.

The child's mother was found shot in the abdomen inside the apartment on San Augustine Street along with another child, police said.

A man was shot by police and a woman was found wounded inside a Deer Park apartment where officers responded to a disturbance on Monday morning. Two children were also at the scene.
