The BCCI is all set to implement stricter protocols with the Indian cricket team which include limiting the time players spend with their families on tour and barring independent transport for players while commuting for practice and matches.

BCCI’s restrictions on family members being allowed to travel with Indian cricketers on overseas tours as well as on private travel would not have cropped up had India ended up on winning side in Australia.

Following India’s 3-1 loss against Australia in the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar series, the BCCI is set to revive the touring protocols for the national men’s team, including a restriction on how much time families can spend with players.

According to a report in ESPNCricinfo, two of the major changes the BCCI is planning to implement going forward are limiting players’ wives’ presence on the tour and ending the practice of some players ditching team buses to travel privately with their families.
