India's Ambuja Cements beat estimates for second-quarter profit on Monday, as higher-than-expected volume growth helped mitigate a decline in cement prices.

The cement maker’s revenue rose 6% to ₹4,213 crore in the second quarter of FY25 from ₹3969 crore in the corresponding in the previous fiscal. The Q2 revenue is 10% higher than the CNBC-TV18 poll projection of ₹3820 crore.

Ambuja Cements Ltd recorded a net profit of Rs 472.89 crore in the September quarter, which led to a 3% rise in its shares. The firm's revenue reached Rs 7,516.11 crore, its highest Q2 revenue in five years.

For the quarter under review, Ambuja Cements reported a net profit of Rs 456 crore, down from Rs 793 crore reported a year ago. Net sales for the Adani Group-promoted entity rose marginally by 1.2 per cent to Rs 7,516 crore in the same period.

India: Ambuja Cements has reported a 22% year-on-year fall in standalone net profit to US$60.4m for the quarter ending September 2024, down from US$77.6m in the same period in 2023. Revenue from operations rose by 6% year-on-year to US$507m,
