No sorry think last time was 2013 then 1998. But the museum does give you the best representation.

According to the church, the shroud is only displayed when the pope visits or a very rare agreed time, to be honest I don't think its advertised which is why I was disappointed to find it …

According to the church, the shroud is only displayed when the pope visits or a very rare agreed time, to be honest I don't think its advertised which is why I was disappointed to find it covered up. If you are lucky enough there are plenty of hotels in the area that this site should provide.

Hi Andiamokk, I am planning for a visit to Turin this weekend. I would like to know if it is the replica of the shroud in Museum? I somewhere read that the real shroud is in Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, Turin, Metropolitan City of Turin, Italy. Is it also possible to visit that too? Is it open to public ? When is the best possible visiting times? Do you advice to pre book the Mueseum and Cathedral? Also curious to find other interesting activities near by... Thanks a lot Bindu

When I was there in May, the shroud was being repaired and in the museum, it is a replica. You don't need to book in advance as it wasn't that busy. The staff were really helpful but …

When I was there in May, the shroud was being repaired and in the museum, it is a replica. You don't need to book in advance as it wasn't that busy. The staff were really helpful but mostly speak Italian but there are little handheld devices explaining everything in different languages. There's lots to do in Turin but depends what you're interested in.
