We went to a Tavern to eat. We were pressed on time due to traffic. So we had about an hour all together in Lacock, and we didn't see very much except from the bus. We did this tour on a Sunday. A better plan would be to go during workdays. The traffic in Bath was overwhelming, too. I'm used to small town USA, and England traffic in general is every bit as bad as NYC, DC, LA, etc.

Agreed with both, there is parking at the gift shop and then you can walk around the entire site. You can no longer get closer than about 10 m (35 ft) though.
